Engineered to integrate directly with the Andros stem or the Syntace VRO 47 stem used on many Tern bicycles, the Tern Valo 2 is a powerful hub-dynamo powered light designed to help you navigate safely at night. It is optimally positioned for visibility and well protected from accidental knocks and bumps, as well as theft. Clarity™ optics projects the type of wide, even beam pattern that a cyclist needs – no more lighting the tops of trees in the distance or narrowly focused hotspots.

Designed with the lighting experts Herrmans in frigid Finland, where winter temperatures dip to -40° C and daylight all but disappears, the Valo 2 is made from cold-resistant ABS and has a standlight function so you’re still visible to traffic while stopped. The patented CryoCore™ cooling design uses the handlebar as a heatsink to draw more heat away from the LED chip, allowing for brighter, more efficient ouput.

The Tern Valo 2 is designed to work with the BioLogic Joule 3 or other standard dynamo hub, so you will never need to worry about dim lights or being stuck with dead batteries ever again.

setelah terhubung dengan dynamo maka cahaya yang bagus untuk menerangi jalan pada malam hari, posisi yang mudah diubah dan bentuk retro nya yang menyenangkan… memuaskan…

This is a great option if your bike has a T-Shaped handle post and a front dynamo. It provides a wide beam pattern that is great so see by and to be seen by other traffic. A must for those night rides. I only wish that the two stand-light LEDs under the main reflector were brighter, otherwise a solid product.

This Valo 2 light is a well, detailed and efficient piece made by Biologic. Does pair with a Joule 3 hub and although Lisbon have a wonderful good margin of sun exposure, I can say that the late afternoon and evening have become much more pleasant by the efficiency of the whole Joule3 / Valo2 system.
The light beam connectors are well protected under the ABS shell.
The white light illuminates the road efficiently and circulation is done safely, with its central position high an advantage, even though I have had to adopt the complete system VROM of Syntace, but well worth it. Perhaps a future version can integrate the functionality daylight. But above all keep it simple, as light as possible, efficient and long lasting!
For now this little light has worked swimmingly, let’s see how it behaves in the winter rain, cold and darkest days.

I can’t say enough good about this light. It comes on at low speed and has a distinct beam pattern with a crisp edge. The light is crystal white and illuminates the road beautifully as well as making the bike visible to motorists. There is a small “standlight” which keeps the light minimally visible when the bike is stopped. The Valo 2 is reliable; I’ve not experienced any failures on either of the two that I have, one on my Verge S11i and one retro-fitted to a Dahon Mu XL. I’ve had these lights in regular service for a couple of years; in the winter (Chicago), the light is exposed to severe cold temperatures and salty spray.

If I were to complain about this light, I would say two things. One: occasionally during folding/unfolding the wires get pulled off the lamp’s connectors. These are tiny push-on spade connectors and they can be a nuisance to re-connect, especially in cold weather wearing gloves.
Two: I would like the light to have a day-time “flashing” mode. I run my Valo 2 all the time, and I feel during daylight hours a flashing light would be more visible. This could be an automatic function triggered by ambient light.
